Sarah Mendelsohn was born in Manhattan, early April.

Using a range of media, performance, writing, and dialogue, they work with and against narrative.

With and against narrative because they are invested in both history and the capacity for individual and collective change. With and against because recognition comes with mis-recognition.

In 2017, Mendelsohn is entering the Visual Arts MFA program at UC San Diego, where they’re working on a couple longer-term projects reflecting a queer politics of listening, and investigating the interrelatedness of security and insecurity within neoliberalism—love, sweat, song, and defecation.

Since 2015, they’ve been co-producing Reconnaissance, an audio documentary series exploring the construction of narrative in political life. You can find past episodes and other collaborations here.
